Forget the stuffy twinsets and frilly ballgowns – pearls are having a major comeback. Once relegated to old-fashioned looks, these natural wonders have undergone a complete image overhaul. Pearl is one of three birthstones for June (Alexandrite and moonstone being the other two). Pearls were once thought to be teardrops fallen from heaven and have long been associated with purity, humility and innocence. They are warm to the touch, have a silky texture and I find that they blend with all shades of skin as they softly reflect the colours they are adjacent to.
