The pendant on this necklace is cast from acorns I collected while passing under an oak tree nearby. I noticed that quite a few of the acorns were in pairs, one acorn much smaller than the other, creating a more interesting look than a single acorn on its own. Acorns and the oak tree carry a great deal of symbolism in many cultures. In particular, In Celtic and Nordic cultures, the acorn symbolized immortality, fertility, and life. As such, this necklace would make a perfect gift for a new mum or baby, a christening, engagement or wedding gift.
This item is available ready to ship in sterling silver, yellow gold plated and rose gold plated silver. All other options are subject to 2 weeks production time.
The acorns are cast in solid sterling silver (100% recycled) and have a lovely weight to them. They are hung from a belcher chain which has an additional loop, so you have the choice of wearing it as a 16 inch or 18 inch necklace. The pendant moves freely on the chain, and I have created a twisted loop out of the twig that the acorns were attached to, making this a truly authentic, nature inspired pendant. The charm measures approximately 15mm from the top of the bail to the tip of the larger acorn. The larger acorn is about 9mm wide.
